Training on Motivational Interviewing

A massive thank you to Glen Hinds, who delivered a specialised training session on Motivational Interviewing to our dedicated team at Pneuma Healthcare at Ulster University Coleraine campus. Glen, met with our Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners team.

MI is used to address ambivalence in clients dealing with depression, anxiety, and other mental health challenges. It helps clients identify and move toward values-aligned actions that can improve their mental well-being.

Motivational Interviewing is a powerful approach that fosters personal growth and positive change by respecting the client’s autonomy and engaging them in a collaborative process. Its emphasis on empathy, understanding, and self-efficacy makes it a versatile tool that can be adapted to a wide range of contexts. By helping clients explore and resolve their ambivalence about change, MI empowers them to take meaningful steps toward improving their lives.
